Step 2 - Choose your recorder


Essentially you have 2 options in the type of recorder you select:

  1. Desktop Recorder - (For single line or multi-line requirements) - these connect to a single telephone directly
  2. Centralised/Server Based Recorder - (For multi-line requirements only) - these connect to your switch or extension sockets

The other main consideration is how many calls you will need to record and whether you will keep them. Your 3 options are as follows:

  1. Recorders with a 'hard disk' (a set storage capacity is built-in)
  2. Recorders with storage media (long play cassette, CD, or DVD)
  3. Recorders that enable you to record directly to your PC or computer network
