The 142 cordless phone adaptor essentially provides you with two telephone sockets from one, the recorder plugging into one socket, your cordless phone into the other.
Alternatively the 142 connector can work in conjunction with other adaptors to enable the recording from an analogue telephone line socket such as a BT socket. You can see the BT plug on the white adaptor to the left of the picture. You can also see the socket in the adaptor that enables you to plug your cordless phone into the same socket. This will record all telephones/extensions on the same line.
